Please make a note of the following information:

Our sensory room is open to all children, young people and adults.

You can book the sensory room for private use for 1 hour, it is £15.00 for the room for up to 4 people.

The sensory room can accommodate a maximum of 4 people at a time, which includes parents, carers, or guardians..

Due to limited space, we can only accommodate one wheelchair user at a time for sensory room bookings. If there are multiple wheelchair users, please contact us in advance to make the necessary arrangements.

We have ramp access throughout, our door width is 70cm.

A portable hoist is available, If you require the hoist, please ensure you book this at booking stage and bring your own sling.

Please note that we have a toilet on site, but it is not a disabled toilet.

If you have any questions or need adaptations to the environment to make the sensory room suitable for your use, please reach out to us, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Please note you will receive a payment request within 24 hours following booking , if we do not receive payment your booking may be cancelled.

We are aware that there may be individuals attending who do not have a bank card , for cash payments please use our booking page and reference CASH in the notes section.

Please note this booking does not include access to the play space, this is private hire for the sensory room.

Our play space is designed to provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience while ensuring that it doesn’t become overcrowded for children aged 0-12.
To maintain a relaxed atmosphere, we operate on a booking basis. One of our play spaces one is located within the cafe seating area and the other is in a connected room just off the main area.
Prices are :

The cost for the first child aged 12 years and under is £8.50, with each additional child being £6.50. We are pleased to offer one complimentary adult admission per booking. For any additional adults or children aged 13 and older, a fee of £1.00 per person applies.

Transport is not included, you must be able to find youw own way their. Food and drink is also not included please ensure you bring a packed lunch.

Younger siblings are welcome however must be included in numbers at booking.

12:30-14:30 SELF LED ACTIVITIES INCLUDING:
• WHIRLOW HALL SCAVENGER HUNT
• WALK TO WHINFELL QUARRY GARDENS (IDENTIFY TREE TYPES & TREE TALLY)
• INSIDE WHINFELL QUARRY (INVESTIGATE
MINI BEASTS & TALLY)
PARENT/CARER MUST REMAIN ON SITE TO SUPERVISE OWN CHILD/CHILDREN

Please note the hoist/wheelchair questions are relating to sensory Haven, Whirlow do not have any hoist or changing facilities.

Discover a fantastic range of wooden montessori toys , role play items , small sea life soft play & sensory items inc our roller slide in our play space. We also have our sensory room & activities room all under one roof. And that's not all – all sessions are SEND-friendly. Get ready for an adventure like no other!

Our Sensory room is private hire for the hour and is suitable for all ages including adults. Our play space suitable for 0-12 years and is a shared space and book able for 90 minutes.

We understand there may be SEND children over 13 who may want to access our play space, please message us for more information.

We have a portable hoist available, we also have a toilet available, unfortunately this is not a disabled toilet.
Our ramp available this is 70cm wide.
Due to space only 1 wheelchair user per booking for sensory room unless this can be folded.

This is the place that every SEN family needs in their life! Went for the first time today with my autistic 5 year old and newborn baby. Tara couldn't have been more welcoming and accommodating. We are so lucky to have somewhere so suitable for our little boy, it's a truly non-judgemental and inclusive space. Thank you! We'll be back soon.

We are truly grateful to Sensory Haven, a place where my son truly shines, particularly in the sensory room. It feels like his sanctuary, a safe haven where he can express himself freely without fear of judgment. Tara and her incredible team are always so attentive and caring, going above and beyond to ensure that every young person's needs are met. I am deeply thankful for a place like this that brings such joy and acceptance to our lives.

Tara & Mel are absolutely lovely, very welcoming & go out of their way to be accommodating. They totally understand my Granddaughters needs & have built a supportive, inclusive environment, where she is able to happily play in a calming, non judgmental environment.

Such an amazing place. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere . Great areas to play in for all SEN and sensory needs. The owners can't do enough to accommodate yours and your child's needs. Would highly recommend.
Great cake and hot chocolate also if you want something nice to eat whilst your child has the best time in a super safe environment 😁

As a foster carer to children with SEN, finding Sensory Heaven’s Lego sessions has been an absolute win. My little boy attends most Saturday mornings, and it’s been incredible to see the difference it’s made. He’s formed some lovely friendships — something he usually finds really challenging — and it’s all thanks to the supportive, inclusive environment Tara has created.

Lego is a real passion of his, so being able to attend a session that’s tailored specifically for children like him is just fantastic. Tara is amazing — warm, knowledgeable, and clearly dedicated to what she does. I would highly recommend Sensory Heaven to any parent or carer of a child with additional needs.
